Job summary

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Cyberknife/Navigator in Setauket, NY and Bohemia, NY. The role requires coordinating care with the interdisciplinary oncology team, educating patients, and guiding them through radiotherapy and screening steps.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills are required.
• Proficiency with an EMR system is preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in an outpatient medical office setting.
• Healthcare or customer service experience.
• Patient Navigation Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with the interdisciplinary team in radiation oncology to execute a customized plan of care for each patient.
• Guide the patient through the treatment process, provide patient education, and assist in scheduling appointments as needed.
• Facilitate interaction between patients and their physician and referring physician(s) as appropriate.
• Navigate patients eligible for lung cancer screenings, including outreach, eligibility determination, scheduling, and reviewing results.
• Collaborate with the lung program team to analyze patient findings and guide care based on recommendations.
• Use effective communication to ensure patients and caregivers understand and can adhere to the treatment plan.
• Contribute to quality-driven performance improvement initiatives.
