Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cancer Center, Briarcliff and KUCC locations. The Oncology Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, documentation, care coordination, IV therapy, and administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy. BSN within 5 years, active RN license, and BLS required; oncology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate
• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Must complete BSN within 5 years of hire.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1+ year oncology/med-surg experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs primary and secondary patient assessments and documents in the medical record.
• Coordinates care delivery and communicates with the care team to ensure needs are met.
• Demonstrates knowledge of IV therapy, hydration, and administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy.
• Triage patients and collaborate with providers to ensure timely care.
• Adheres to evidence-based practice and maintains safety in all procedures.
