Job summary

Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC is seeking a dedicated oncology nurse to provide professional nursing care, educate patients on oral chemotherapy care plans, and support general nursing duties in an office setting.

The role includes assisting physicians, administering injections, performing phlebotomy, PICC/VAD care, and coordinating supply levels, with licensure and oncology certifications pursued within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
South Carolina RN license.
ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification within 6 months of hire.
BLS and CPR certification.
National Oncology Certification within 2 years of hire.
Strong analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of cancer and cancer therapy.
Proficiency in PICC line care, VAD care, Hickman/Broviac care.

Responsibilities

Maintains positive attitude and professional interaction with patients and staff.
Assists physicians with patient care including equipment setup and procedures, injections, and documentation.
Triage patients and communicate results and medication instructions clearly.
Process chemotherapy orders and document dosing in the EHR.
Cahesive patient education and care coordination.
