Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Hematology Oncology is seeking an Oncology RN for a full-time day shift. You will deliver expert nursing care to oncology patients, coordinate with the care team, and educate patients and families. The role supports a center with comprehensive cancer services and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications include Iowa RN license, 3 years acute care, BLS, and demonstrated clinical skills. Sign-on bonus eligibility is offered; benefits are competitive.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current license as a RN issued by the State of Iowa.
• Minimum of three years acute care experience.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic nursing skills in an outpatient setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Applies professional nursing skills in the treatment of ill and injured patients.
• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team and other departments.
• Provides patient/family education and counseling.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and nursing standards.
• Maintains confidentiality and documents assessments and results accurately.
• Utilizes hospital information systems and PACS to retrieve patient information.
