Job summary

UofL Health - Brown Cancer Center is seeking an Oncology RN Clinician to provide evidence-based care for adults and geriatrics across oncology treatment stages. You will collaborate with the healthcare team, coordinate labs and tests, educate patients and families, and follow up after clinic visits to ensure continuity of care using evidence-based practices.

The role emphasizes clinical judgment, adherence to policies, and ongoing professional development in oncology.

Qualifications

• 3 years oncology patient care experience preferred.
• BSN preferred; must enroll or obtain degree within 2 years of hire.
• Current unrestricted Kentucky RN license required.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider card required.
• ONCC certification (OCN, BMTCN and/or CBCN) preferred upon hire, must obtain within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Overses the overall operation of the clinics to ensure timely patient care and appointments.
• Provide chemotherapy education and manage side effects with patients.
• Perform patient assessments, medication reconciliation, and focused system checks.
• Coordinate with pharmacy, social work, and other resources for coverage and preauthorization.
• Document assessments, treatments, education, medications, and patient responses.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in committees.
