As a Telephonic Oncology Case Manager RN, you’ll support our Oncology member population with education, advocacy, and connections to the resources they need to feel better and get well. Core hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday-Friday in your time zone, with one late night per week until 7:00 pm. If you live in Nebraska, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Making outbound calls to assess patient's current health status
  • Identifying gaps or barriers in treatment plans
  • Interacting with Medical Directors on challenging cases
  • Providing patient education to assist with self-management
  • Coordinating care for members
  • Encouraging members to make healthy lifestyle changes
  • Documenting and tracking findings
  • Educating members on disease processes
  • Making post-discharge calls to ensure discharged members receive necessary services and resources
  • Utilizing management to evaluate the appropriateness and efficiency of healthcare services, procedures, and treatments under the health benefits plan

This position requires active and unrestricted Nursing licensure in multiple US states. The selected candidate must be willing and able to obtain and maintain multiple state licenses (application fees and filing costs paid by UHG).

Required Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted RN license
  • Multiple state licensure (including Compact License if applicable) or ability to obtain it
  • 3+ years of recent Oncology experience in hospital, acute care, direct care, or insurance telephonic case management
  • Recent chemotherapy administration experience
  • Computer proficiency, including data entry and navigating Windows environments
  • High-speed internet from home (Broadband Cable, DSL, or Fiber)
  • Dedicated home office workspace
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN
  • OCN Certification
  • Chemo Administration Certification
  • Certified Case Manager (CCM)
  • Background in managed care
  • Case or disease management experience
  • Discharge planning experience

Salary range: $59,500 - $116,600 annually, based on full-time employment and various factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentives, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions. All benefits are subject to eligibility.
