Plexus Partners Ltd. is seeking an Oncology Research Director / Principal Investigator to lead the Gainesville, GA oncology program on-site.

You will function as PI and Medical Director for industry-sponsored trials (Phase I–III), set feasibility and strategy with leadership, and ensure protocol conduct and safety with FDA/ICH-GCP compliance. The role demands an MD/DO with Georgia license, oncology board certification, and PI or sub-PI trial experience.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with active, unrestricted Georgia license or eligibility
• Board-certified in medical oncology or hematology/oncology
• Clinical trial experience as PI or sub-investigator on industry studies
• Established patient base or referral network is a plus
• Strong working knowledge of GCP, FDA regulations, and IRB processes

Responsibilities

• Lead the oncology research program at the Gainesville site as Principal Investigator and Medical Director
• Serve as PI on industry-sponsored oncology trials from Phase I to III
• Collaborate with leadership on feasibility, portfolio strategy and trial selection
• Oversee protocol conduct, subject safety and regulatory compliance
• Mentor sub investigators, advanced practice providers and coordinators as team grows
• Represent site with sponsors and CROs at meetings, site visits and audits

Oncology Research Director / Principal Investigator, Gainesville, GA

We’re working with a well established clinical research company that wants to build its oncology research program in Gainesville, Georgia, around the right physician.

They’re looking for an oncologist with real clinical trial experience who wants to lead research rather than fit into someone else’s program. This is an on site role, with flexibility on days for the right person, so candidates within reach of Gainesville, North Georgia and the wider Atlanta area are especially welcome. Relocation candidates are also very welcome.

The foundations are already in place. The site is up and running, with plenty of space to grow and advanced imaging on site. The company is part of a growing national site network that is investing in oncology, and it has strong access to industry sponsored trials. Sponsor relationships, regulatory work, coordinator recruitment and training, contracts, budgets and study start up are all handled by an experienced central team. You focus on the science and the patients.

The role

• Lead the oncology research program at the Gainesville site as Principal Investigator and Medical Director
• Serve as Principal Investigator on industry sponsored oncology trials, Phase I to III
• Work with company leadership on feasibility, portfolio strategy and which trials the site takes on
• Take responsibility for protocol conduct, subject safety, and compliance with FDA regulations and ICH GCP
• Oversee eligibility, safety management and the medical care of study participants
• Represent the site with sponsors and CROs at investigator meetings, site visits and audits
• Mentor sub investigators, advanced practice providers and coordinators as the team grows

Who we’re looking for

• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Georgia license, or eligibility to obtain one
• Board certified in medical oncology or hematology/oncology
• Clinical trial experience as Principal Investigator or Sub Investigator, ideally on industry sponsored studies
• An established patient base or referral network in the region is a strong plus
• Strong working knowledge of GCP, FDA regulations and IRB processes
