Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Rio Rancho, NM seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team, delivering patient-centered cancer care across treatment and recovery phases.

You will collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, while supporting patients and their families throughout the treatment journey, including education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Licensed as RN in NM or Compact state.
• 2 years med-surg or ICU nursing experience preferred.
• Oncology or infusion center experience preferred.
• Chemotherapy/biotherapy/immunotherapy certification within 1 month of hire.
• National Oncology Certification expected within 2–3 years.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and documents needs, actions and responses.
• Coordinates patient care with family and healthcare team.
• Offers supportive care and education, including referrals and bereavement counseling.
• Initiates and documents protocols and standards of care.
• Administers chemotherapy and other oncology treatments per physician order.
• Addresses discharge needs and patient education throughout care.
• Leads orientation and training of staff; serves as resource.
• Maintains professional standards of care and regulatory compliance.
