Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. is seeking an Oncology Nurse to support the Cancer Center in Aventura. The role emphasizes accurate interpretation of chemotherapy orders, safe administration, and timely patient education.

You will participate in mandatory in-services and maintain BLS certification while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards and hospital protocol. Ideal candidates hold an Associate's Degree in Nursing with Florida RN licensure; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Florida RN licensure.
• BLS certification is required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Entry level accepted for qualification

Responsibilities

• Interpret chemotherapy orders and calculate BSA/ANC.
• Double check chemotherapy orders with patient identifiers.
• Administer chemotherapy safely and dispose of wastes per guidelines.
• Complete nursing documentation per Joint Commission standards.
• Provide patient education using approved forms.
• Identify and manage oncology emergencies (extravasation/anaphylaxis).
• Maintain Basic Life Support certification and participate in annual in-services.
• Delegate care according to staff competencies and maintain professional demeanor.
