Insight Global is seeking an experienced Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) for a 16-week contract in Webster, TX. The role involves administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy in a fast-paced oncology infusion setting across Webster, Pearland, and Southeast Houston clinics.

Strong IV skills and oncology infusion experience are essential. Applicants must hold an active RN license, have at least 2 years of oncology infusion experience, and be BLS certified.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license.
• Minimum of 2+ years of oncology infusion nursing experience preferred.
• Experience administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments.
• Current ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card required or can be acquired after offer.
• Experience with central line management (Ports and PICC lines).
• Current BLS certification.

Responsabilités

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusion treatments per physician orders and protocols.
• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Establish and maintain venous access (peripheral IV, ports, PICC).
• Access, flush, and maintain central venous access devices per best practices.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, meds, side effects, and post-care.
• Document assessments, treatments, and responses in the EMR.
• Collaborate with oncologists and clinic staff to coordinate care.
• Maintain compliance with safety/infection control protocols.
• Respond to infusion-related emergencies and patient changes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is seeking an experienced Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced oncology infusion setting. This individual will administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, perform comprehensive patient assessments, and collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery.

The ideal candidate has strong oncology infusion experience, excellent IV skills, and is comfortable working across multiple clinic locations within the Webster market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusion treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments while monitoring for adverse reactions and complications.
• Establish and maintain venous access, including peripheral IV starts, implanted ports, and PICC lines.
• Access, flush, and maintain central venous access devices according to best practices.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
• Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the EMR.
• Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and clinic staff to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, infection control practices, and oncology-specific protocols.
• Respond appropriately to infusion-related emergencies and changes in patient condition.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2+ years of oncology infusion nursing experience preferred.
• Experience administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments.
• Current ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card required. (can acquire after getting offer)
• Experience with central line management, including Ports and PICC lines.
• Current BLS certification.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Prior experience in an outpatient oncology infusion center.
• Experience working with high-volume oncology patient populations.
