Overview

The Oncology Regional Trainer (ORT) supports and facilitates the learning of activities for U.S. Oncology commercial facing roles, and supports the design, development and execution of the annual learning plan to achieve business results. The ORT reports to the U.S. Oncology Learning Director and collaborates with Oncology Learning Consultants and Oncology Learning Partners in the execution of the U.S. Oncology L&D strategy through consulting and delivery of national and/or regional learning solutions. The role focuses on training capabilities in the Business of Oncology in addition to supporting clinical and sales needs for Oncology customer facing positions.

The ORT interacts with mid-level managers, supervisors, and Directors to understand business goals and performance needs, develops and executes learning plans aligned to the Company’s Oncology business strategy, and engages with key stakeholders to ensure learning solutions support desired outcomes. Success depends on the ability to collaborate with sales and marketing leaders in the Oncology CBL, Learning Directors, and other Learning Partners and Consultants, and to work cross-functionally as a partner and point of contact for the business’ performance needs.

  • This is a field-based position that will cover the nation.

  • The focus of this role is to train on the Business of Oncology and clinical expertise aligned to in-line promoted indications.

  • Travel is required in this role (50%).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Remain current on learning and development related tools, techniques, strategies and practices to provide relevant, informed consultative insight and learning practices to internal business partners.

  • Establish, deepen, and sustain key relationships with Oncology Sales management to understand training needs and related performance gaps, and prioritize training capacity within the region.

  • Develop a high understanding of key market dynamics and trends in oncology to support field sales in positioning products and services and delivering training grounded in the Business of Oncology.

  • Train on the complexities of payer and pathway controls and how to ensure compliance while addressing customer challenges and engagement opportunities.

  • Deliver training and/or support local subject matter experts in providing training at sales meetings.

  • Provide timely feedback on learning effectiveness to the business and communicate recommendations for improvement to U.S. Oncology Learning and Development.

  • Review ad-hoc learning activities and requests; support design and development of new learning assets as needed.

  • Drive onboarding of oncology sales representatives and oncology key account managers in the field with sales management, emphasizing proficiency in scientific knowledge, business acumen, account management and selling effectiveness.

  • Reinforce training as a continuum by executing learning and development initiatives delivered to Oncology CBL, nationally, regionally and locally.

  • Participate in the facilitation and execution of the live portion of new hire training.

  • This position will not be responsible for performance management of Oncology sales representatives.

  • Training Delivery: ability to effectively deliver or facilitate training in face-to-face and virtual instructor-led sessions; solid understanding of technology as a training medium.

Education Requirement:
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Education or Science preferred)

  • Preferred: Master’s Degree (Business, Education or Science preferred)

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience with at least 3 years of Oncology commercial experience (sales, marketing, training, reimbursement) and experience developing and/or facilitating/delivering Oncology learning solutions.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will work a Hybrid schedule (three days on-site per week, with Friday remote) unless business needs require otherwise. This does not apply to field-based roles or other exceptions as described in policy.

The salary range for this role is $139,600.00 - $219,700.00. This is the range we believe we would pay at posting time, with final placement based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentives, if applicable.
