The University of Missouri's School of Medicine seeks a full-time Radiation Oncologist to provide specialized clinical services at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center. The role includes teaching and administration, with opportunities for research collaboration and advanced cancer treatment.
The University of Missouri's School of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology, chaired by Dr. Bo Lu, is expanding and searching for a full-time Radiation Oncologist who wishes to build a world-class, specialized clinical practice at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center. Our ideal candidates will provide the highest level of care to our patients, who come to us with the most complex cases from across our region. The applicant will have the opportunity to provide clinical radiation oncology services, as well as lead the growth of research and scholarly activities related to oncology and cancer.
We treat over 600 new patients annually, including both adult and pediatric cases. Our radiation team collaborates closely with specialized medical doctors to provide optimal cancer treatment. Weekly tumor board meetings involve surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, and radiologists to review and develop treatment plans.
Opportunities for research collaboration abound at the University of Missouri, which offers access to extensive resources and partnerships with industry leaders like Cerner, Siemens Healthineers, and Thermo-Fischer. Collaboration opportunities also exist at Siteman Cancer Center for joint projects, publications, and grants.
The university is investing heavily in medical research, including the $220 million NextGen Precision Health Institute, equipped with advanced facilities such as a MAGNETOM Terra 7 Tesla MRI scanner—the first of its kind in Missouri.
Our infrastructure includes the largest university research reactor in the US (MURR), producing radionuclides like Iodine-131 and Lutetium-177, supporting advanced imaging and therapy research.
