Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required for practice in Texas.
• Board eligibility or board certification in Surgical Oncology is required.
• Active Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain one is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead surgical oncology program within a 500-bed facility.
• Perform 5–7 surgical cases weekly with 2–3 clinic days per week.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary cancer care team and navigator system.

Position Highlights

• Specialty: Surgical Oncology
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Clinical days: 2–3 clinic days per week averaging 15 patients per day
• Surgical days: 2–3 OR days per week with approximately 5–7 cases; volume may increase based on candidate capacity and community demand
• Call: Optional General Surgery call available at 3–4 days per month
• Practice setting: The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus — a 500-bed facility with a dedicated inpatient oncology unit and outpatient infusion center
• Support systems: One-call patient navigator system to streamline care coordination
• Significant unmet community need with strong growth potential for the right candidate
