Job summary

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in New Castle, PA is seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our oncology-focused team. This full-time role offers daylight hours, Monday through Friday with no weekends or holidays and may require floating to nearby locations as needed.

You will assist with sterile and nonsterile medication preparation, filling, distribution, and patient information support while maintaining compliance with health authority regulations.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred or required as specified.

Responsibilities

• Filling medication orders with correct labeling, counting and stocking.
• Prepare proper oral and injectable medications including IV admixtures and TPN for the correct patient.
• Assist in sterile product area and distribution of medications per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized work environment and ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping.
• Perform inventory management, cash handling following policies, and HIPAA/compliance duties.
• Assist in training pharmacy staff and students and support quality improvement in pharmaceutical care.

Education
