Job summary

Ocala Oncology Center/Florida Cancer Affiliates is looking for a PRN Pharmacist to join our team in our Ocala Practice. Under minimal supervision, compounds and dispenses medications, drugs, and other medications according to professional standards and practices.

Prepares and maintains all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges and inventory. Consults with nursing and medical staff regarding prescriptions, orders, drug and pharmaceutical detail, patient reactions, errors and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy and state licensure.
• Minimum three years' experience as a registered pharmacist.
• Oncology background preferred; IV skills preferred.
• Current Pharmacist license in state of practice.
• May supervise pharmacy technicians.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medication orders.
• Maintains patient profiles and drug data to evaluate orders.
• Verifies orders for completeness and insurance approval.
• Admixture of drugs per guidelines and OSHA rules.
• Calculates dosages and converts units.
• Directs technician workflow and ensures correct labeling.
• Provides drug counseling to patients and staff.
• Instructs patients on interactions and side effects.
• Performs pharmacy teaching and ensures confidentiality.
• Keeps records and maintains inventory and logs.
• Prepares reports and monitoring activities.
