Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to deliver day-to-day, patient-focused pharmacy services. You will review therapies, educate patients and care teams, and collaborate to optimize drug regimens for safety and efficacy.

The role includes supervision of technicians and students, with potential preceptorship. A Texas pharmacist license, PPC, IV and BLS certifications are required or achievable within stated timeframes.

Qualifications

  • TX pharmacist license or eligible within 90 days.
  • Pharmacist Preceptor Certification (PPC) within 15 months.
  • IV Certification within 90 days.
  • BLS certification within 90 days; ACLS preferred.
  • Hospitals experience is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day comprehensive, patient-oriented pharmacy services.
  • Process orders, perform therapy reviews and educate patients and care teams.
  • Collaborate with health professionals to optimize drug therapies for safety and effectiveness.
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and students; may serve as a preceptor.
  • Contribute to a culture of quality and safety within the department.
