Summary

Job Summary:

A registered pharmacy technician performs delegated pharmacy tasks under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, in accordance with Florida statutes. Responsibilities include patient communication, refill authorizations, appointment reviews, medical records review, insurance authorization, prescription processing—including investigational medications in clinical trials—and assisting with compounding, inventory management, and record keeping, following federal and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or relevant experience qualifying for licensure as per Florida Statutes, Section 465.014

Licensure/Certification:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), with skills in unit dose, pharmacy orders, inventory systems, investigational or REMS medications, pharmacy automation, EHR, and sterile IV preparation, including hazardous or investigational medications, with a good understanding of USP clean room practices and GCP guidelines.
