Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Register Pharmacy Technician Specialist to perform delegated pharmacy tasks under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, handling communication with patients and providers, and assisting with compounding and inventory, following USP standards and hospital policy.

Qualifications

  • Must have graduated from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or be eligible for licensure as per Florida Statutes 465.014.
  • Licensed as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with pharmacy automation software and wholesaler systems.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate or receive communications with patient, provider, and team members for refill authorization and patient care.
  • Process prescriptions, including investigational medications, per CFR and GCP guidelines.

All such delegated acts will be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist who is responsible for all such acts performed by persons under his or her supervision as outlined in Florida Statue 465.014. These supervised tasks and duties include but are not limited to: initiating or receiving communications with patient, provider, and/or team members to facilitate patient care for: refill authorization requests, assisting in patient appointment review, medical records review, insurance authorization review, processing of prescriptions, including investigational medications utilized in clinical trials in compliance with policies and procedures set forth by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and/or medications associated with Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategies (REMS).
