Job summary

Reston Hospital Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support registered nurses with hands-on care, vital signs, mobility, and personal care in a safe, welcoming environment for patients.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and compassion as you help monitor conditions and carry out care plans, while maintaining clean, stocked patient areas. CNA certification or nursing coursework is preferred; BLS is required within 30 days of start date.

Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred; or Fundamentals of Nursing course completed.
• Previous acute patient care experience preferred.
• BLS certification from ARC or AHA within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers and comfort.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keep patient areas clean, organized and stocked for safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment and logs to support infection control.
• Communicate with patients, families, and care team to support safety and quality.
