Job summary

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Oncology Clinic in North Dakota. The role supports ambulatory services under licensed supervision, with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm schedule and no weekends or evenings.

A CNA is preferred, with BLS required within 60 days. The successful candidate will perform basic patient care tasks, assist with measurements and screenings, maintain treatment areas, manage inventory, and help

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of six months' experience preferred. Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
• If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a CNA, must be registered as a Nursing Assistant (NA) within four months from the date of initial employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care tasks and support activities within ambulatory services.
• Height, weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, color vision screening, drug screens, point of care urinalysis and reception/clerical tasks.
• Prepare patient treatment areas and clean equipment; dispose of biomedical waste.
• Monitor stock levels of medical inventory and restock or reorder as needed.
• Work patient registries and identify opportunities to improve patient care.
• Collaborate with licensed clinicians and maintain excellent interpersonal communication.
