Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Pool Oncology Patient Access Specialist 3 for the TGH Cancer Institute Access Operations. You will gather and verify essential patient information to efficiently schedule visits, surgeries, and oncology services, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will support insurance notifications and pre-authorizations, assist with patient check-ins, and communicate with care teams to facilitate timely processing and reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience with scheduling, registration, and insurance verification in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrates ability to obtain and verify demographic, clinical and financial information prior to the date of service.
• Strong organizational skills to complete scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification and follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify patient demographics, confidential clinical and financial information for scheduling visits, surgery and procedures.
• Assist with patient check-ins, insurance notifications and pre-authorizations for oncology services to support claim processing.
• Validate hospital accounts in accordance with CMS and JCAHO requirements.
• Coordinate with nurses, departments, insurers and care management to assist patients with health care and financial services.
• Generate hospital accounts compliant with CMS and JCAHO requirements.
• Follow established policies and procedures under supervision and uphold Tampa General Hospital values.
