The ideal candidate will have BLS certification, a Medical Assistant certification (preferred), and at least one year of experience in a medical office setting.

Qualifications

• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of patient care, safety, computer skills, and customer service is essential.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Assistant assists the physician in all aspects of the medical practice under the physician's direct responsibility.
• Performs administrative and clinical procedures and supervises others as assigned.
• Vital signs procedures and preparation for examination.
• Entering lab and imaging orders; collecting and preparing laboratory specimens; updating patient records.
• Answering phones and scheduling appointments; removing sutures and dressings; transmitting prescription refills.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates teamwork competencies and professional behavior.
