Job summary
University of Chicago Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for the Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC) at Hyde Park. The APP will perform autonomous direct patient care, assessment, diagnosis and initiation of delegated treatments, with collaboration to hematology/oncology faculty, pharmacists and nurses.
The ORAC serves urgent same-day/next-day cancer evaluations; the APP will participate in education, research and administrative
Qualifications
- Advanced Practice Provider role with autonomous patient care in oncology.
- App will collaborate with hematology/oncology faculty, pharmacists and nurses.
- Care for hematology/oncology patients and oncologic emergencies.
- Will include education, research and administrative activities.
- Shift includes rotating days/nights/weekends.
Responsibilities
- Taking patient history and performing examinations.
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests.
- Autonomous decision-making for diagnosis and treatments.
