Requirements

Position: Oncology Nurse Practitioner (Consideration for Physician Assistants)

• Coverage Duration: June, for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension based on need.
• Work Environment: Outpatient oncology clinic.
• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; coverage involves two providers: one from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and a second from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
• Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing clinic-based coverage that includes follow-up appointments for established patients as well as evaluations for new patients at 3, 6, and 12-month intervals.
  • Managing communications with ancillary services, ordering oncology-related diagnostic tests, and handling medication refills.
  • Monitoring ongoing treatment for patients and conducting pre-chemotherapy assessments.
  • Proficiency in performing Bone Marrow Biopsies is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Engaging with both inpatient and virtual patient consultations from the clinic.
• On-Call Requirements: No on-call responsibilities.
• Patient Volume: Anticipated daily patient load of approximately 12-15 patients.
• Essential Qualifications: Recent clinical experience in oncology is a must.
• Electronic Medical Record System: EPIC.
• Required Certifications: Current Board Certification and BLS certification (American Heart Association).
