Job summary

Alaska Native Medical Center is seeking a nurse practitioner to join the Hematology/Oncology team. You will manage outpatient care for adults, perform histories and exams, order tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans in a state-of-the-art clinic on our campus.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with four 10‑hour shifts, from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, in Anchorage, Alaska. Candidates with 2–5 years in hematology/oncology and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Master’s Degree in Nursing and national NP certification in Family Medicine or Adult/Acute Care.
  • Requires DEA Certification and Alaska APN license.
  • Preferred 2–5 years of post‑grad hematology/oncology NP experience; OCN/AOCNP certification advantageous; strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient care for adult hematology/oncology patients.
  • Complete histories and physical exams; order and interpret tests; prescribe medications.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and educate patients and families on options and plan of care.

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) seeks a nurse practitioner to join our Hematology/Oncology team at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) an award-winning Level II Trauma Center. With over 30 medical specialties, ANMC serves as the tertiary referral center for Alaska Native and American Indian people across the state. Working in collaboration with five physicians and another nurse practitioner you will manage comprehensive outpatient care for adult oncology and hematology patients in a state-of-the-art clinic located on our medical center campus. Responsibilities include: completing comprehensive histories and physical exams; ordering and interpreting tests; prescribing medications; developing treatment plans; and educating patients/families on treatment options, chemotherapy, procedures and the plan of care.

Work Schedule:

Full time; Monday through Friday; four 10‑hour shifts per week; 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM; no evenings, weekends or on call required.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing; Certification as a Family Medicine or Adult/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by an approved national certifying body
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification
  • State of Alaska Advanced Practice Nurse License.
  • Preferred 2 to 5 years’ post‑graduate experience as a nurse practitioner managing hematology/oncology patients and OCN or AOCNP certification; astute clinical skills; superior communication and relationship building skills; flexible team player; culturally sensitive.
