Job summary

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is seeking a nurse practitioner to join the Hematology/Oncology team at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. You will provide comprehensive outpatient care for adult oncology and hematology patients in a state-of-the-art clinic, collaborating with five physicians and another NP.

Responsibilities include exams, tests, prescribing, developing treatment plans, and educating patients and families on options.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing; Certification as a Family Medicine or Adult/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by an approved national certifying body
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification
• State of Alaska Advanced Practice Nurse License.
• Preferred 2 to 5 years’ post-graduate experience managing hematology/oncology patients; OCN or AOCNP certification; strong clinical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive histories and physical exams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on treatment options; chemotherapy, procedures, and plan of care.
• Collaborate with physicians and other team members in outpatient hematology/oncology care.
