Job summary

Virginia Cancer Specialists, an affiliate of McKesson Specialty Health and US Oncology, is seeking a Full Time Oncology Nurse Navigator for our Arlington office. Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations.

The Oncology Nurse Navigator facilitates informed decision making and timely access to high quality health and psychosocial care through all phases of the cancer continuum.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience.
• Oncology certification preferred.
• Current RN license in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care adhering to standards and guidelines.
• Educate patients and facilitate access to resources.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external referrals.
• Maintain accurate charting and confidentiality.
• Mentor/preceptor to less experienced staff.
• Maintain patient flow and assist with exams and procedures.
• Ensure OSHA guidelines and safety in handling cytotoxic agents.
