Job summary

Virginia Cancer Specialists in Arlington is seeking a Full Time Nurse Navigator to provide professional nursing care, support patients and coordinate access to care within our oncology program. The ONN will educate patients and facilitate timely access to high-quality cancer care across clinical departments.

The role requires collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, financial counselors, social workers, and other teams, while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to compliance

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 3 years nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
• Current RN license in practicing state; CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific differences in patient populations.
• Assess and monitor therapy under physician supervision.
• Assist physician with exams and procedures.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and accurate documentation.
• Provide patient education and coordinate referrals and resources.
• Triages patient/family calls and documents information.
• Mentor and guide nursing staff and clinical team.
