Job summary

Mercy South Sindelar Cancer Center in St. Louis, MO is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Navigator to guide oncology patients and their families through the cancer journey—from diagnosis through treatment, survivorship, and follow-up care.

You will coordinate care with oncologists, infusion services, imaging, and other teams, educate patients about diagnoses and treatments, help remove barriers to access, and document care plans and outcomes in EPIC.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• 2-3 years nursing experience.
• BLS certification.
• Oncology, infusion, hematology/oncology, care coordination, case management, or nurse navigator experience.
• OCN certification or willingness to obtain.
• Chemotherapy/biotherapy experience.
• ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and navigate care for oncology patients throughout diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and survivorship.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, procedures, side effect management, and available support resources.
• Facilitate communication between patients, providers, infusion services, imaging departments, specialty providers, and support teams.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans.
• Assist with referrals, appointment coordination, treatment scheduling, and transitions of care.
• Monitor patient progress and proactively identify and address barriers to care.
• Provide emotional support and connect patients and families with community resources and financial assistance programs.
