Job summary

VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Nurse Patient Navigator to support Benign/Hematology. The role advocates for patients, educates them, and coordinates care across a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality treatment throughout the journey.

Qualified candidates hold Virginia RN licensure (or compact state) with 3+ years in oncology nursing. AHA BLS and a nurse navigation certification within a year are required; a BSN is mandatory and an MSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Virginia or compact state.
• Minimum 3 years nursing experience in oncology, patient education, case management, or navigation.
• Specialty nursing certification in Nurse Navigation or area of specialty within 1 year of hire.
• AHA BLS Certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advocate, interpreter, educator, and counselor for patients in the population.
• Manage care of assigned patients, ensuring access to comprehensive healthcare and services.
• Primary point of contact for patients and caregivers, providing guidance and support.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients and families throughout treatment.
