Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA is seeking a Professional Development Specialist I-Oncology Nurse Navigation (PDSI) to educate and mentor oncology nursing staff. This role focuses on addressing clinical issues and competency development, aligning with ANPD/ONS standards.

The PDSI collaborates with CPS and nursing leadership to coordinate orientation, supervise educational programs, and implement simulation-based training to advance professional practice and patient care.

Qualifications

BSN required.
Current RN license in Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire.
3 years of clinical nursing experience and 1 year of oncology experience.
Experience in nursing education or staff development preferred.
Professional certification required within 3 years of hire (NPD-BC or Oncology-specific).

Responsibilities

Demonstrates expertise in oncology clinical practice and supports staff in learning and competency.
Educates staff on policies, procedures, and evidence-based guidelines; develops and evaluates teaching strategies.
Coordinates orientation and onboarding for new employees in collaboration with Nursing leadership.
Mentors nursing staff and collaborates with nurse directors to design educational programs and simulations.
