Job summary

Deciphera Pharmaceuticals seeks a Medical Science Liaison II (MSL II) to act as a field-based scientific expert in oncology. You will build peer relationships with KOLs, investigators, and healthcare professionals while providing balanced information on investigational and marketed therapies.

Responsibilities include gathering clinical insights, supporting research, and ensuring compliant, evidence-based communications aligned with strategic plans, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific degree required (PharmD/PhD/MD) or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years pharma/biotech experience, including at least 3 years as an MSL or field medical role.
• Strong oncology knowledge and ability to translate data for diverse audiences.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with KOLs and external experts to discuss clinical data, emerging research, and disease-state insights
• Support investigator-initiated and company-sponsored studies and represent the company at scientific meetings and congresses
• Deliver clear, balanced scientific presentations and communicate field insights to internal stakeholders
• Summarize key scientific updates and competitive intelligence to inform medical strategy and evidence-generation plans
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to support clinical trial feasibility, investigator identification, and educational initiatives
• Ensure all activities comply with SOPs, PhRMA Code, and global regulatory requirements while staying current on evolving oncology research
• Contribute to internal training, medical planning, and continuous improvement of field processes
