Job summary

AstraZeneca GmbH is seeking an Oncology Scientific Partnership Medical Director (SPMD) for the US Mid Atlantic region. The role focuses on developing medical strategy, coordinating resources, and partnering with NOAD and Account Directors to influence decision makers in major health systems.

You will operate in a field-based capacity across the US Oncology Medical Affairs team, collaborating with MSLs, HEOR, RWE, and other stakeholders to advance oncology programs and networks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ oncology experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Existing relationships with oncology accounts, oncology IDNs, oncology pathways and oncology networks.
• Thorough knowledge of the US clinical oncology landscape and formulary decision making.

Responsibilities

• Develop, support, and drive US Oncology Medical Affairs strategy at assigned US health systems.
• Medical partner to NOAD and other Account Directors for priority US health systems, O-GPOs, oncology networks, and pathways.
• Develop a clear medical account strategy plan reflecting USMA, R&D, and oncology franchise objectives.
• Lead through influence when collaborating with internal AstraZeneca stakeholders (SM&M, HEOR, RWE, MSLs, R&D, External Alliances, Precision Medicine).
• Develop strong medical relationships across AstraZeneca functions and key scientific decision makers.
• Act as the single point of contact for medical communications to leadership in assigned US health systems.
• Coordinate AstraZeneca medical/scientific resources to support decision makers in assigned health systems.
• Develop and drive scientific information exchanges in identified US health systems; knowledge of tumor types and AZ Oncology Portfolio.
• Utilize AstraZeneca matrix, institution, and healthcare industry knowledge to drive innovative patient-care solutions.
• Attend and participate in key conferences as needed.
