Job summary

Maryland Oncology Hematology is seeking a Medical Scribe to document examinations, impressions and treatment plans in the EMR under physician supervision. You will support the healthcare team, enter patient information during interviews, and ensure accurate, timely notes.

This role requires strong computer skills, fast typing, and teamwork. Prior experience with EMR systems such as iKnowMed or Centricity is a plus; CPR certification is valued.

Qualifications

• Proficient in clinical documentation and patient interaction.
• Experience with electronic medical records and medical terminology.
• Bachelor’s degree or healthcare coursework preferred; scribe training valued.

Responsibilities

• Document physical examinations, impressions and plan under physician direction.
• Transcribe real-time physician decision-making into the EMR.
• Prepare and print patient education handouts and update progress notes.
• Assist with patient communications and information gathering during visits.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to compliance and quality standards.
