Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Oncology to join the US Medical Affairs team focused on Gyn/GU oncology. This field-based role requires building a local medical strategy, engaging with oncologists, urologists and MDTs, and advancing patient care through scientific collaboration.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced health science degree with 2+ years in MSL or related TA experience, excellent communication, and willingness to travel 40-60% domestically.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific degree required (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP)
• 2+ years of MSL experience or relevant therapeutic area experience
• Demonstrated ability to discuss scientific content to diverse audiences
• Effective written and verbal communication; able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Act as the local medical leader to develop a tailored strategy to meet USMA priorities in the disease area and local patient needs
• Develop relationships with academia, hospitals, managed markets, private practices
• Lead scientific exchanges with oncologists, urologists and MDT members
• Lead peer-to-peer scientific/medical interactions
• Gather insights on treatment landscape and opportunities to improve patient outcomes
• Communicate insights and actions to internal teams to improve patient care
• Discuss and align on data with KOLs to address patient needs
• Stay current with scientific knowledge and attend relevant meetings
• Collaborate with Clin Ops on Ph3 trials and ESR follow-ups
