Job summary

Compass Therapeutics, Inc. in Boston, MA, is seeking a Medical Director to lead medical and clinical initiatives, reporting to the CMO.

The role requires deep oncology drug development experience across early to late-stage assets and collaboration with CROs and internal teams. This on-site position at Brighton, MA expects four days per week in the office, fostering cross-functional partnerships with Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and Translational Research to advance our pipeline toward

Qualifications

• MD with oncology/immune-oncology focus and relevant medical specialty
• 5+ years in life sciences industry with oncology medical oversight
• Clinical drug development experience and knowledge of clinical trials execution

Responsibilities

• Ensure medical goals align with corporate milestones and quality standards
• Lead clinical research activities to support product approval and manage stakeholders
• Oversee CRO relationships to ensure patient safety and GCP compliance
• Monitor oncology trials, mitigate risks, and adjust study protocols as needed
• Oversee data management, safety reviews, regulatory compliance, and medical cleaning
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations on study start-up and site initiation
• Maintain relationships with Executive Leadership, Clinical leadership, and key colleagues across departments
• Develop external relationships with KOLs and investigators
• Evaluate trial data for efficacy and safety signals
• Apply medical expertise to resolve study issues and maintain industry-leading knowledge
• Maintain ethical standards and regulatory compliance across all activities
