Job summary

OneOncology is seeking a Medical Billing & Coding Specialist to manage coding and billing rules within the practice management system. The role emphasizes accurate charge entry, claim submission, and ongoing liaison with radiology and proton therapy teams.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding, plus experience with insurance policies and denials management. This position requires attention to detail and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum two years’ charge entry/billing experience.
• 1+ year of Prior Authorization experience.
• Extensive knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding and insurance billing guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for proton therapy treatments.
• Verify charges for proton therapy, radiation therapy, and radiology services in the practice management system.
• Generate and submit accurate claims to insurance payers and monitor the billing process.
• Assist with investigation and resolution of claim rejections, denials, or appeals.
• Educate clinical team on documentation requirements and stay current with industry changes.
