Texas Oncology in Plano, TX seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinic operations in a fast-paced oncology setting. The role involves assisting physicians, handling patient flow, clerical tasks, and adhering to compliance standards.

Level 1–Sr candidates considered; on-site position with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within a large oncology network.

Qualifications

• Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties.
• May perform clinical and clerical tasks in a fast-paced oncology clinic.

Responsabilités

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms.
• Records patient data prior to visits: vitals, height/weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtains necessary patient records prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures.
• Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
• Maintains exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answers patient calls for referrals to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Documents prescriptions and coordinates patient communications.
• Notifies physician of reschedules and no-shows.
• Performs administrative duties such as typing, filing, and chart prep.

Formation

High school diploma or equivalent

Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred

Current BCLS certification

Phlebotomy experience (Level 2 context)
