Job summary

Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center West Chester Clinic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The MA will support Physicians/Nurse Practitioners, take patient vitals, conduct health screenings, coordinate lab work, and prepare charts in a fast-paced oncology office.

Based at the West Chester office with occasional travel to Exton & Kennett Square locations. Preferred hours are Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm; flexibility based on practice needs.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or higher-level equivalent (Required)
• Experience working as an MA may be considered in lieu of MA program completion or 1+ year working as a Clinical Support Representative at Penn Medicine may be considered in lieu of MA program completion.

Responsibilities

• Promptly rooms patients, uses EMR to alert provider and document vitals.
• Observes patient condition and communicates abnormalities to provider.
• Assists patients with mobility and exam preparation; maintains patient comfort.
• Performs specimen collection and laboratory tests; records results in EMR.
• Performs EKGs and other outpatient screening tests as ordered.
• Assists with minor surgical procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Administers medications and vaccines as directed; documents in EMR when applicable to MA duties.
