Job summary

Beacon Clinic Inc. in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support oncology and hematology services as we open our new Boise clinic in January 2026.

The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, phlebotomy, EKGs, patient intake, and coordinating follow-ups while maintaining current records and smooth clinic operations. CMA certification and CPR/BLS are required or pursued on hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CMA certification or equivalent experience required.
• Three years of experience as a medical assistant or related role preferred.
• Medical oncology terminology strongly preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification, required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, collecting vital signs, specimens, administers shots, and carries out orders (i.e., labs, biopsies, referrals).
• Assists with patient intake forms, including social and family history, medication list, review of systems and preventative measures.
• Prepares patient charts and reviews imaging, labs, pathology, and other reports to ensure all patient records are current.
• Schedules follow-up appointments with patients, prior-authorization procedures, and hospital admissions.
• Return phone calls within 24 to 48 hours of receipt.
• Monitors patient progress and evaluates follow up actions required to meet the patients’ needs by providing quality care throughout patient experience.
• Evaluates documents and distributes applicable clinical correspondence in a timely fashion.
• Completes phlebotomy, routine or specialty blood draws, handling of applicable specimen processing and quality controls.
• Perform EKG’s testing per provider orders.
• Performs medical refill requests and helps triage patient calls along with managing patient referrals to hospitals or other ambulatory facilities.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patients.
• Assists providers with patient exams and procedures as needed.
