Job summary

Beacon Clinic opened in Boise, Idaho to offer Medical Oncology and Hematology services. We seek a Medical Assistant to support patient intake, vital signs, specimens, labs, and scheduling in a growing Boise clinic.

You will assist with chart prep, imaging reviews, and coordinating follow-ups, referrals, and admissions while upholding compassionate patient care, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CMA certificate or equivalent experience and willingness to earn CMA certification required.
• Three years of experience as a medical assistant or related role preferred.
• Medical oncology terminology strongly preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification, required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients, collecting vital signs, specimens, administers shots, and carries out orders (i.e., labs, biopsies, referrals).
• Assists with patient intake forms, including social and family history, medication list, review of systems and preventative measures.
• Prepares patient charts and reviews imaging, labs, pathology, and other reports to ensure all patient records are current.
• Schedules follow-up appointments with patients, prior-authorization procedures, and hospital admissions.
• Return phone calls within 24 to 48 hours of receipt.
• Monitors patient progress and evaluates follow up actions required to meet the patients’ needs by providing quality care throughout patient experience.
• Evaluates documents and distributes applicable clinical correspondence in a timely fashion.
• Completes phlebotomy, routine or specialty blood draws, handling of applicable specimen processing and quality controls.
• Perform EKG’s testing per provider orders.
• Performs medical refill requests and helps triage patient calls along with managing patient referrals to hospitals or other ambulatory facilities.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patients.
• Assists providers with patient exams and procedures as needed.
