Job summary

UC San Diego Health in San Diego is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join the Cancer Clinic on a 100% appointment, 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday.

Under supervision of a registered nurse, you will triage, assist with examinations, administer medications, draw blood, collect labs, and educate patients; the role may be at LVN or Sr. LVN level depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• A minimum of two years LVN experience is required to be hired at the Sr. LVN level.
• Completion of educational requirements for licensure as a licensed vocational nurse in California.
• Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
• Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
• Demonstrated experience working with a team to provide high-quality patient care.
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands, and work in a team environment.

• Prioritize and assist in patient triage processing.
• Prepare and assist with patient examinations.
