Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a LMFT Clinical Therapist to provide direct outpatient psychosocial care to adult cancer patients, couples, and families within an oncology setting. The role requires Texas LMFT licensure or eligibility, with at least 3 years of face-to-face patient experience, and fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive mental health evaluations, delivering individual or group therapy, and coordinating referrals.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for Texas LMFT licensure.
• Experience providing therapy to adults in healthcare or medical settings.
• Minimum 3 years of face-to-face patient interaction.
• Clinical experience with cancer or chronic medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake evaluations documenting history, symptoms, and diagnoses; develop treatment plans.
• Provide individual and/or group psychotherapy following evidence-based practices; document progress.
• Coordinate referrals and resources to meet patient needs; work with clinic leadership to improve workflows.
• Deliver psychotherapy for complex, time-sensitive cases as part of oncology care.
