Job summary

Quincy Medical Group is seeking a Registered Nurse in Oncology Lab to support patients through cancer treatment, working with oncologists, infusion nurses, and the oncology team. The role focuses on laboratory services, vascular access, patient assessment, and care coordination in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Schedule is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with one half-day per week; no weekends. This position emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care and collaboration to ensure

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license is required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Oncology/infusion/medical-surgical/outpatient clinic or vascular access experience preferred.
• Experience accessing ports, PICCs, and CVADs preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient education skills.
• Knowledge of chemotherapy medications and their effects preferred.
• EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform peripheral blood draws and collections from ports, PICCs, and CVADs.
• Access and assess ports, PICCs, and CVADs for function and complications.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for provider visits.
• Document vital signs, weight, meds, and history in the EMR.
• Assist with additional specimen collection as ordered.
• Administer medications, injections, and therapeutic phlebotomy as directed.
• Monitor patients and report abnormal findings to providers.
• Coordinate lab testing and future orders in the EMR.
• Maintain complete patient documentation and medication reconciliation.
• Maintain exam rooms and supplies to ensure readiness.
• Collaborate with providers, infusion nurses, lab staff, and oncology team.
• Perform other duties to support oncology operations.
