Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is seeking a qualified Injection Medical Assistant for our Chandler outpatient oncology clinic. You will perform injections, assist clinicians, and support staff while interacting directly with patients and their caregivers.

The role requires 1-2 years of MA experience and National MA Certification, with knowledge of HIPAA, CPT/ICD coding, and basic administrative duties. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• National MA Certification required.
• Knowledge of HIPAA rules & regulations.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPCS coding.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to use office equipment and computer.

Responsibilities

• Completes and records vital signs for treatment patients.
• Completes and records patient assessments, if applicable.
• Reviews and confirms laboratory count.
• Administers injections; notifies RN staff if help is needed.
• Answers phones and responds appropriately.
• Preps for the day from the Daily Schedule.
• Provides support coverage for rooming patients as needed.
• Reviews critical labs and dictation from last visit.
• Maintains accurate records in patient assessments.
• Works with charts and computer systems.
