Job summary

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center's Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks an Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse - PRN to support oncology patients across the continuum. Under general supervision, you will assess patient needs, provide education, and coordinate care with the care team.

Ideal candidates have an approved nursing program graduate, at least 1 year of nursing experience, and current Texas RN license with BLS. BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program.
• Current Texas nursing license (or BNE Compact State) and BLS.
• 1 year nursing experience required; oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient health status across the oncology continuum.
• Provide education and resources to patients and families.
• Develop and implement care plans with the healthcare team.
• Perform nursing interventions and document care accurately.
• Coordinate procedures, supplies, and patient education.
• Supervise and support nursing staff as needed.
• Adhere to hospital policies and maintain patient records.
• Communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
