Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Infusion RN for an outpatient oncology infusion center requiring ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification and an active MI RN license.

The role involves a day shift, 4x10-hour schedule with 7:30am-6:00pm hours, 1:10 patient ratio, and no nights or on-call shifts. Epic EMR and Beacon experience are preferred, with orientation providing Epic training.

Qualifications

• Active MI RN license required by start date (compact license not accepted).
• Current BLS certification required.
• ONS chemotherapy and immunotherapy certification required, OCN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Skilled in IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line and PICC line care.
• Experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy required.
• Ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies (anaphylaxis, extravasation, ATLS, hemorrhage).
• Experience providing psychosocial support and symptom management for oncology patients.
• Charge experience and teaching hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient oncology infusion center setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:10-12.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:30am-6:00pm (may vary based on unit needs).
• Every other weekend required.
• No nights, floating, or on-call shifts.
• Uses Epic EMR, Beacon experience preferred.
• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, port/line management, and monitoring for treatment side effects.
• Care for patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and hematologic malignancies.
• Coordinate care and provide patient/family education on treatment and symptom management.
• Epic training provided during orientation.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel.
• Maximum RTO of 5 days per assignment, must be submitted at time of application.
• Returning staff members must wait 12 months before reapplying.
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position.
