Job summary

The RN II demonstrates clinical competence in medication administration, emergency management, and patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas required or eligible for licensure within required timeframes.
• BLS certification (any instructor acceptable) required.
• Chemotherapy credential (FCIA or ONS-CICC/ONS-CICR) within 90 days for current incumbents or new hires.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and conduct patient assessments.
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional team to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families and maintain accurate medical records.
• Lead unit initiatives and serve as charge nurse or preceptor when applicable.
