Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities include oncology order setup, inventory maintenance, and accurate documentation to support patient care.

You will handle IV drug preparation under aseptic technique, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure timely delivery of medications to patient care areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy license.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification.
• 3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Proficiency in math and computer use.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Ability to work with teamwork and professional demeanor.
• 8:30am-5pm with rotating holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Process and release orders via pharmacy dispense queue.
• Set up oncology orders with drugs and supplies for compounding.
• Deliver medications to patient rooms and medication room areas.
• Maintain inventory and monitor expiration dates of medications.
• Prepare and package all forms of medications.
• Prepare intravenous (IV) drugs using aseptic technique.
• Generate necessary pharmacy reports.
• Participate in improving operations and quality initiatives.
