Job summary

Cayuga Health’s Oncology Infusion Pharmacy (OIP) oversees chemotherapy procurement, storage, and preparation across Cayuga Cancer Center pharmacies in Ithaca, NY. The OIP ensures safe medication use, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient care within a collaborative oncology team.

The role requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, NY license, and 3+ years health-system oncology experience. This onsite position offers competitive pay, benefits, and growth opportunities within Cayuga Health.

Qualifications

Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with either a BS pharmacy or PharmD required.

Responsibilities

Enforces policies promoting safe, appropriate, cost-effective chemotherapy/medication use.
Manages oncology pharmacy staff in production of admixtures, verifies procedures and labeling.
Reviews, evaluates and advises on physicians’ medication orders for completeness and appropriateness.
Develop medication protocols, order sets and perform medication utilization reviews and PI projects to optimize drug therapy utilization.
Assist with selection of evidence-based prophylaxis, chemotherapeutic and supportive care regimens.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, and evaluate drug therapy quality.
